Blackout looms as electricity employees back nationwide strike

The National Union of Electricity Employees (NUEE) has declared its intention to participate in the proposed nationwide strike scheduled for Wednesday.

In a statement titled “Mobilization for Nationwide withdrawal of services,” Dominic Igwebike, the Acting General Secretary of NUEE, urged national and state leaders of the union to initiate mobilization efforts in preparation for the strike.

The statement emphasized that the withdrawal of services across the country will commence precisely at 12:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 7, 2023. Furthermore, members were encouraged to collaborate with the state executive council of the Congress in their respective regions to ensure a successful action.
