Charly Boy, the controversial singer also known as Charles Oputa, has responded to the calls for his arrest following a recent comment he made. In a tweet, Charly Boy urged Nigerian youths to emulate the French protesters who were destroying public property in response to the shooting of a 17-year-old youth by the police near Paris.

Some Nigerians found Charly Boy’s tweet objectionable and called for his arrest, accusing him of attempting to incite civil unrest. However, Charly Boy took to his Twitter handle to mock those demanding his arrest.

He expressed amusement at the reactions he received and referred to those calling for his arrest as monkeys. He criticized the Department of State Services (DSS) for not arresting actual criminals but being quick to apprehend individuals who speak out against them. Charly Boy labeled such individuals as useless Nigerians.

In his tweet, Charly Boy highlighted that his intention was to encourage Nigerian youths to take control of their destiny and dismantle what he referred to as a criminal enterprise. He dismissed those who tried to portray themselves as gangsters based on his post as foolish individuals.
