On August 29, 2025, Tiwa Savage‘s fourth studio album, This One Is Personal, was formally released. Following a five-year hiatus since Celia in 2020, this eagerly awaited album represents a significant comeback.
The project’s worldwide production footprint was demonstrated by the two-year duration of the recording sessions, which took place in Nashville, Malibu, San Francisco, London, and Lagos.
Built on experiences of suffering, recovery, sorrow, resiliency, parenthood, and self-discovery, Tiwa called it the “most personal album yet.” She underlined that every song captures “a chunk of my heart,” or something she has experienced firsthand.
This One Is Personal is a journey through Tiwa Savage’s most private moments of love, suffering, resiliency, and self-discovery rather than merely an album.
It is one of her most developed and emotionally impactful works to date, with gripping narratives and a blend of R&B and Afrobeat influences.
