Ghanaian rapper Amerado officially released his latest project, The Price of Becoming, on August 28, 2026. The project contains eight tracks and has a total runtime of approximately 27 minutes. The release is credited to MicBurnerz Music and is listed as an Afrobeats release on Apple Music.

The title The Price of Becoming introduces a project centred around the idea of growth, transformation and the experiences that come with progressing through life and music. The opening song, “The Price of Becoming (Mpaebor) [Intro]”, establishes the title and begins the eight-track journey.

The project continues with “Sika Mframa,” followed by “Chacha.” Both songs place Amerado’s vocals and rap delivery at the forefront, maintaining the focus on the Ghanaian rapper throughout the early part of the project.

Track four is “Obiaa Nte Mase,” which leads into “Fountain” featuring Nigerian rapper and singer Skales. The collaboration gives the project a cross-border Ghana-Nigeria dimension, bringing Skales into Amerado’s latest body of work. The official Spotify listing identifies Skales as the featured artist on the song.

The sixth track is “Return of the Lunatic 2.” The song continues the connection to Amerado’s earlier “Return of the Lunatic” title, while appearing as part of the new project’s eight-song sequence. Music In Africa also lists the song among Amerado’s current music releases.

Amerado follows this with “Keteke,” before closing the EP with “Pharaoh (Remix).” The closing remix has one of the longest runtimes on the project at approximately five and a half minutes, giving the EP an extended final track.

One of the notable aspects of The Price of Becoming is its compact eight-track structure. Rather than presenting a lengthy album, Amerado keeps the project concise, allowing the songs to form a focused sequence from the introductory title track through to the closing remix.

The project also reflects Amerado’s position within Ghana’s contemporary rap scene. Known for his use of Twi alongside English and his lyric-focused approach, the rapper has built a catalogue that includes projects such as G.I.N.A, Patience, Young And Strong, The Gold Coin, Against All Odds and Defy All Odds.

With The Price of Becoming, Amerado adds another release to that catalogue in 2026. The project combines solo performances with one identified guest appearance from Skales, keeping Amerado as the central voice across the majority of the eight songs.
